About Hannah Akoka, Jewish psychology consultant

Hello,

My name is Hannah Akoka. I’m a Jewish psychology consultant, and I would like to start with a blessing of appreciation for the huge step that you’re taking. Searching and learning are the first steps toward success!

I specialize in Jewish psychology counseling. I earned my certification from YNAR: the college for consultants and therapists in the State of Israel. This is a university acknowledgment, and I am a coach who has been helping people since 2009. I maintain a private practice in New York City and in Israel. I work with many clients from all walks of life and all over the world.

My goal is to help people attain their most desired goals and solve challenges in various areas. My counseling work is a life mission and a true solidarity. As people, we need to be aware that our lives are constructed from four fundamental aspects: intrapersonal elements, interpersonal elements, intergenerational elements, and—specific to the Jewish methods—on-personal elements. Usually, a barrier in one aspect will affect all the others in our lives. The Jewish methods tell us that the starting point will always be intrapersonal; relationship, parenting, marriage, professional, and business challenges will merge into the counseling space.

I’ve worked with many people—some depressed, some anxious, some traumatized, some experiencing marriage crises, some in despair regarding careers or businesses. No matter how many patients I see who are suffering from the same types of barriers, the Jewish counseling way of thinking maintains that each patient is totally unique. From this perspective, we arrive in the counseling space like explorers when they reach a new land rather than like archeologists when they excavate ruins. The main difference between our approach and all the others is that we are not looking for something that needs to be found. We are just discovering new territory together! You already have your answers inside you! I will guide you with tools that have proven to help with cognitive, behavioral, instrumental, and emotional challenges. I will help you reduce your symptoms by following methods from the Jewish kabbalah, modern treatments, and Eastern sources.

Please remember that each patient is unique. There is no psychology book written solely about you! Your soul and spirit are one of a kind; therefore, it’s up to you to write and rewrite your book of life. During treatment, you will find out many new things about yourself. You will discover strength and abilities that will surprise and delight you!

However, I must mention that treatment is not always comfortable. Some parts of the journey may be difficult and challenging, but the effort is worth it because the best is yet to come! You are on your way to your best version!

Treatment following the Jewish counseling methods doesn’t require you to practice Judaism! This method is a way of thinking and an assortment of effective techniques.

We believe that treatment—especially for patients who are suffering from physical symptoms—works best when the body and soul are both addressed. We offer parallel treatments: counseling sessions with a natural doctor (ND) in order to build a strong body and a soul treatment plan. Please ask us about our ND professionals.

I once heard from a conventional therapist that a person who goes through a major crisis phase in his or her life has an experience similar to that of a person who breaks his or her leg and won’t be able to walk normally ever again. The person needs to learn how to function with the change and its lasting effects. The Jewish concept and foundation prove that you will not only heal but also grow to be stronger and more resilient. Bones and metal and glass can be broken, but the human soul and spirit are indestructible. When you work out, you actually tear your muscles in order to encourage them to grow. Soul injuries are the same: any injury you experience can be healed, and you will emerge more powerful for the experience.

Each of my clients begins by gaining a clear knowledge of the treatment process, progress, time frame, and goals. There’s homework that will train you for your independent life. This treatment is not endless; you will gain tools that will guide you through solving challenges without being dependent on sessions. We will present a detailed treatment plan, and approximately every six sessions, we will review and discuss your progress and future.

My Jewish counseling methods have served me well both professionally and personally. I have undergone many challenges and crises in my personal life. I want all the people who visit our clinics to know that they’re talking with a human being who not only is knowledgeable but also can empathize with others’ situations and experiences.

I promise to build you a secure counseling space that will allow you to express your deepest struggles. I promise to guide you with tons of practical tools for your everyday challenges. I promise to be in it with you! Together, we can resolve any issues in your life.

I invite you to contact me today and start your healing journey. Being the best version of yourself is a difficult but rewarding goal.

Best regards,

Hannah Akoka,
